Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting activities, delivering actionable insights, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Key responsibilities include supporting month-end close processes like revenue support and preparing reports, as well as assisting with monthly and quarterly forecasting, building financial models, and analyzing variances. The role also involves evaluating business cases, supporting audits, and collaborating with various teams to advance business interests. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills.
Must have:
  • Completed a Business degree (BBA, B.Comm) or comparable experience
  • Considerable experience in financial analysis or similar analytical experience
  • Strong Excel skills including building formulas and modelling reporting files (VLookUp, IndexMatch, Sumif, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Ability to interact with Global Finance team members
  • Understanding of “the detail” and ability to articulate the “big picture” clearly
Good to have:
  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP system
  • Salesforce experience
  • Prior experience of working within an advertising organisation

Role: Senior Financial Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for assisting in financial planning, analysis, forecasting activities, delivering actionable insights, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in corporate finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

     Month End Close

  • Support Finance Director, SVP and FPA, Manager with month end close and reporting
  • Revenue support, Billing and related journal entries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal stakeholders
  • Other month-end tasks including reconciliations, variance analyses, and entry back-up and support

Forecasting and Planning

  • Assist the Finance Director, SVP and FPA, Manager with monthly and quarterly forecasting, reporting and budget planning.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for scenario planning.
  • Variance and trend analysis, managing surprises and proactively identifying opportunities and threats
  • Revenue and Margin analysis and reporting on patch/POD performance
  • Sales funnel analysis and reporting on conversion
  • Assist in evaluating business cases for new commercial deals & rate card analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency

      General Finance support and team assistance

  • Ad hoc analysis and special projects as required
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to proactively advance business interests and explain historical results
  • Provide documentation and support during external audits

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed a Business degree (BBA, B.Comm) or comparable experience
  • Considerable experience in financial analysis or similar analytical experience
  • Strong Excel skills including building formulas and modelling reporting files (VLookUp, IndexMatch, Sumif, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP system is preferred
  • Salesforce experience is an asset
  • Ability to interact with Global Finance team members
  • Must have an eye for and a comprehensive understanding of “the detail”, but be able to see and articulate the “big picture” clearly and simply
  • Regular interaction with non-financial staff throughout the business is essential and so prior experience of working within an advertising organisation is advantageous
  • Must be adaptable with a “roll up the sleeves” approach, prepared to learn and overcome obstacles
  • A positive attitude, willingness to be flexible, desire to contribute to team objectives
