Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the development and implementation of the annual budget, the monthly forecasts, and the analysis & reporting of monthly operating results. Experience required in producing and supporting a detailed budget and forecasting process. Responsible for the collection, reporting and analysis of financial data.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis  

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and development of quarterly and annual budgets, ensuring budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed in a timely manner. 
  • Track and analyze operating results and individual department budgets. Perform monthly actuals vs budget analysis, understanding root cause (timing of expense, underrun or overrun). 
  • Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key trends and performance metrics. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to further financial understanding of business and influence decision making. 
  • Monitor and evaluate forecast accuracy, adjusting models and assumptions as necessary to improve forecasting precision. 
  • Assist with acquisition analysis and integration with budgets, analyze strategic alternatives. 
  • Assist with preparation of financial model for financing opportunities as available.  

Cash Flow Analysis  

  • Monitor and analyze cash flow movements, including inflows from operations, financing, and investing activities, as well as outflows for operating expenses, capital expenditures, debt repayments, and other obligations. 
  • Develop and maintain cashflow forecasts to project future cash flow needs and assess liquidity positions, considering various scenarios and assumptions. 
  • Build and maintain financial schedules to support cash flow forecasting, incorporating key drivers such as revenue projections, expense trends, and working capital dynamics. 
  • Prepare and present cash flow reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities impacting cash burn. 

 

Financial Reporting and other Ad hocs  

  • Support the month end close and financial reporting for assigned entities, as required, through analytical review and reconciliation review. 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards. 
  • Assist with external audits by providing documentation, supporting schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Assists in the preparation of materials to be reported to the Board and shareholders on a timely and accurate basis. 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function. 
  • Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 
  • Completion of professional designation (CPA, CA) 
  • 3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis or Big 4 accounting firm, or equivalent experience  
  • Proficient in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel; experience with financial planning software/tools is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.  
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset
