Senior Game Design Director

EA SPORTS Tiburon is looking for a Sr Game Design Director to lead our American Football portfolio through new modalities of play, social connection, UGX creation tools. This is an opportunity to define the vision and direction for innovative design, features, and live services, allowing fans to engage in new ways in their football fandom.

As a Sr. Game Design Director you will be reporting into the VP, Head of Product for Tiburon in our EA Orlando Studio location and will closely partner with key production, operational, technical and art leaders to shape strategic growth opportunities within and beyond our games.

Your Responsibilities

• Define the vision and direction for innovative design, features, and live services (for assigned franchises and initiatives) across Tiburon Studios titles.

• You will assist with defining American Football ecosystem design for a connected, massive online community with new modalities of play, social connection, UGX creation tools and self-expression capabilities, and interactive watch components, contributing to the development of a multi-year innovative feature strategy that leads to player engagement and growth.

• Contribute to design elements of the American Football ecosystem loyalty, rewards, subscription, and live service economy components.

• Shape the use of AI/ML in efficiency, expansion, and transformation efforts for efficient design capabilities (“how” we design and deliver features) and franchise feature capabilities and innovation (“what” we design and deliver).

• Shape the design for strategic growth initiatives and opportunities beyond our games that extend the football ecosystem for other interactive sports opportunities, inclusive of offerings for players, athletes, influencers, leagues/teams, and broadcasters.

• Deliver against expectations for quality, innovation, and business growth for Tiburon Studios as a member of the studio’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and/or expanded SLT.

• Co-lead the Tiburon Studios design community by assessing talent, monitoring and improving designer engagement and sentiment, strategically contributing to organizational design with respect to designers and design capabilities, mentoring and growing designers and Creative Directors, and driving for innovation across our studio design capabilities.

• Provide senior level leadership input on overall talent strategy for the design job family within Tiburon Studios, setting clear goals for the design community and measuring progress against key results.

• Build relationships across EA SPORTS and EA’s design community leaders.

• Foster a diverse and inclusive culture and work environment that attracts / retains talent, creating a culture where people can harness their passion and talent into delivering amazing, creative experiences.

Your Qualifications

• A passion for interactive entertainment and creating fun and engaging experiences.

• 10+ years of experience leading a large, game development-focused organization (Console, PC or Mobile).

• 5+ Years leading game live services with an understanding of the relation between game content, experiences, and economies.

• Examples of innovative, successful game experience and live service game design.

• Direct people management experience and proven ability to lead a large design organization.

• A background that reflects success in addressing challenges across product organization, business, and people spheres.

• AAA game experience preferred.
