Summary

Uken is searching for a Senior Game Designer to lead the development of a new game. This role will collaborate closely with developers and artists to craft engaging, social mobile gaming experiences. Responsibilities include conceptualizing game features and mechanics, prototyping and testing new gameplay elements, balancing game features and optimizing in-game economies, conducting A/B testing to improve key performance indicators, analyzing user behavior and game metrics for optimization, mentoring and collaborating with other game designers, working directly with developers and artists to implement design ideas, researching competitors and analyzing top games in the market.
Must have:
  • 5+ years experience as a Game Designer
  • Proven game design skills
  • Expertise in free-to-play and subscription game mechanics
  • Ability to create detailed game design documents (GDDs)
  • Experience with spreadsheets for managing game economies and balancing
  • Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools for UX design
  • Strong communication and data visualization skills
  • Passion for learning, growing, and taking on more responsibility
Good to have:
  • Shipped 3+ large-scale or 5+ smaller-scale free-to-play/subscription mobile games
  • Experience managing a team of game designers
  • Programming background
  • Strong foundation in math, economics, or finance

Uken is looking for a Senior Game Designer to become a driving force on a new title. This role will work closely with Developers and Artists to create amazing, fun, social mobile game experiences. 

 

As a Ukenite, you'll be working on meaningful things like:

  • Conceptualizing features and mechanics in detail
  • Prototyping and testing new mechanics and systems
  • Balancing features and fine tuning the in-game economies
  • Proposing and deploying AB tests to improve KPI’s
  • Analyzing user behaviour and metrics to perfect the game experience
  • Mentoring and collaborating with other game designers
  • Working closely with developers and artists to implement ideas
  • Researching competitors and deconstructing top games


 Your background should include:

  • At least 5 years experience as a Game Designer
  • Proven game design talents and excellent knowledge of free to play and subscription game mechanics
  • The ability to think through and document designs resulting in cohesive GDDs and feature specs
  • The ability to comfortably build spreadsheets to manage game economies and feature balance
  • Experience working with wireframing / prototyping tools to solidify the UX of each feature
  • The ability to communicate product design and paint a picture with data
  • An appetite to learn, grow, and take on increasingly more responsibility

 

It'd be a big plus if you have:

  • Shipped at least 3 large scale or 5+ smaller scale free to play and/or subscription based social/mobile game(s)
  • Experience managing a team of game designers
  • A background in programming
  • A strong foundation in math, economics, or finance
