The role involves identifying and refining animation issues, providing actionable feedback, hands-on animation adjustments in Maya, and creating high-quality reference materials. The ideal candidate will possess an expert eye for detail, experience with animation pipelines, and proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine. The role offers the opportunity to work on diverse animations, including combat and shooting, within a team of experienced game developers focused on cinematic storytelling, deep gameplay, and top-tier quality. Job Details

Elysium Game Studio is looking for a Senior Gameplay Animator / Animation Consultant to help elevate our animation quality to top-tier AAA standards. We need an expert with a sharp eye for realistic body posture, precise movement flow, and natural finger poses. Our animations must feel fluid, believable, and organic – no stiff, blocky, or janky motions.

This isn’t just another game – Neo Berlin 2087 is a unique fusion of cinematic storytelling, deep gameplay, and cutting-edge visuals. We’re looking for someone who can bring motion to life with a level of realism and impact that matches our ambition.

Your Role:

  • Detect and refine animation issues with precision: Unnatural body posture? Stiff weight shifts? Incorrect limb rotations? You see it immediately. Legs too far apart, shoulders too high, elbows or knees pointing the wrong way? You fix it. Does the movement feel weighty and grounded, or robotic and awkward? You make it right.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback: It’s not just about spotting the flaws – you know exactly how to improve them and make animations feel natural, responsive, and immersive.
  • Hands-on animation refinement: If needed, you step in and adjust poses directly in Maya to demonstrate the correct flow and motion.
  • Gather or create high-quality reference material: You understand the importance of real-world physics, motion capture, and fine-tuned keyframing – and know how to apply them effectively.
  • Work efficiently with our team: You balance quality with production speed, ensuring top-tier animations without unnecessary bottlenecks.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • AAA experience is a must – if you haven’t worked on major productions, this role isn’t for you.
  • A razor-sharp eye for detail – you instantly recognize when: Limb placement is off, Joint rotations look unnatural, Hand and finger poses feel robotic or movement lacks weight and fluidity
  • Expertise in animation pipelines: Whether it’s mocap cleanup, keyframe refinement, or in-engine implementation, you know how to make animations feel seamless.
  • Maya and Unreal Engine experience: You’re comfortable tweaking animations in industry-standard tools to get the best possible result.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills: You don’t just critique – you provide concrete solutions that help the team execute faster and better.
