Job Description

IGG Canada is seeking a Senior Gameplay/System Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in game development, particularly mobile game development with a focus on SLG (simulation & strategy) games. Responsibilities include actively participating in design discussions, building game frameworks, designing gameplay experiences, overseeing production and testing, and creating related documentation. They will also design and develop fundamental game features and unique gameplay elements. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and creative skills, excel in teamwork, and be capable of managing large-scale feature functionality with a focus on quality.

Must have:

3+ years mobile game development experience
Experience in SLG (simulation & strategy) mobile game projects
Deep understanding of mainstream SLG strategy games
Strong analytical, communication, and creative skills
Excellent teamwork and ability to perform under pressure
Capable of independent design, tracking, and accepting large-scale feature functionality

Good to have:

Knowledge of COK/ROK-like game development

Location: 5 East 8th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5T 1R6 (fully on-site)

Responsibilities:

Actively participate in discussions and provide support for the design and developments of systems for SLG mobile games ( simulation & strategy Game).
Take a senior role in building the framework, designing gameplay experiences, system solutions, overseeing production, testing, adjustments, optimizations, and creating related documentation.
Design and develop fundamental game features and unique gameplay elements.
Keep a critical eye on quality for the implementation of in-game content;
Utilizing systems, tools and process design, ensure a good end-user experience while producing quality documentation;
Other tasks assigned by the team.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in game development, with at least 3 years of experience in mobile game development, and a track record of successfully developing and launching mobile games, including in development of SLG ( simulation & strategy ) mobile game projects (COK/ROK-like).
Demonstrate a deep understanding and familiarity with mainstream SLG strategy games, and stay updated on trends in the mainstream mobile game market.
Exhibit strong analytical, communication and creative skills.
Excellent teamwork and ability to perform well under pressure.
Capable of independently designing, tracking, and accepting large-scale feature functionality, with a strong sense of responsibility for feature quality.
Legally eligible to work in Canada without any sponsorship from the employer.
