Senior Instructional Designer

• Design and develop user-facing technical content, including documentation, videos, tutorials, and interactive, role-based courseware to support adoption and effective use of Progress technologies.
• Develop instructor-led training materials such as storyboards, presentations, student/instructor guides, lab exercises, and assessments that align with learning objectives and audience needs.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical inputs, define course objectives, and validate content accuracy.
• Translate complex technical concepts and product features into accessible and engaging content tailored to various technical audiences.
• Follow established design guidelines, team style guides, and information architecture principles to ensure consistency, accessibility, and content reusability.
• Conduct peer reviews, content audits, and quality assurance checks to maintain high editorial and instructional standards.
• Facilitate or support training sessions, webinars, or internal enablement activities as needed.
• Apply user feedback, analytics, and learner performance data to improve and refine content continuously.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing scope, timelines, and quality to meet delivery targets.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, and track progress using Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Lead or contribute to strategic content initiatives such as improving content delivery methods, enhancing learning engagement, and adopting new authoring tools or platforms.
• Stay current with industry trends, instructional design best practices, and new technologies to drive innovation in training content.
• Mentor junior content developers or cross-functional team members on content development practices and tools.

• Proven technical content development experience (course development experience is highly preferred)
• Experience with a Content Management System (IxiaSoft and Litmos is a plus)
• Experience using Camtasia to produce user assistance videos
• Experience using audio software
• Superior written, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A technical B.A./B.S. degree or certification in Technical Writing or Instructional Design, or equivalent experience
• Advanced understanding of cloud services, Digital Experience platforms, and Content Management Systems (CMS); experience with Progress technologies is an advantage
• Ability to be a self-starter, assuming responsibility for setting and meeting project expectations and milestones with minimal supervision
• Ability to learn new tools and technology, innovate with AI tools to develop and deliver quality content
• Flexibility with superior writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
