Job Description

As a Senior Integrated Planner at Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I), you'll oversee planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects. This involves developing detailed project plans, managing cross-functional teams, monitoring project risks, and working with clients to meet their needs. You'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement of project management processes. The role requires experience in datacenter design, procurement, and construction, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and providing regular project updates to senior management.

CO+I is the engine that powers our cloud services. As an Integrated Planner, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team project.

Other Requirements: 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in datacenter design, procurement, and construction, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and to the satisfaction of clients. The role requires effective leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

 

Planning:

  • Develop and oversee continuous improvement of detailed project plans, including timelines, and resource requirements, for large-scale datacenter construction projects.
  • Manage cross-functional teams inside and outside Microsoft, including engineers, procurement, and construction to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet their expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Project Management:

  • Proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
