Job Description

This Senior Java Developer with Kotlin role requires 5+ years of experience and involves both development and L2 support. Responsibilities include developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions using Kotlin, Java, SQL, Oracle, Spring Boot, Http4k, and Openshift/Cloud; collaborating with cross-functional teams; providing technical guidance and mentorship; troubleshooting and resolving complex issues; leading the L2 support team; and continuously improving development processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, a passion for technology, and an interest in team management.

Must have:

5+ years Kotlin, Java, SQL, Oracle experience
Spring Boot, Http4k, Openshift/Cloud expertise
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Software development and L2 support experience
Team management interest

Good to have:

Agile/Scrum experience
Banking domain knowledge

Project description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Developer who can lead by example and take on a dual role encompassing both development and L2 support. This position is integral to our team, which handles both L2 (Support) and L3 (Development) responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a quick-to-learn attitude, and see team management as a growth opportunity.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Kotlin, SQL, Java, Oracle, Openshift/Cloud, Spring Boot, and Http4k.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing L3 support when necessary.

Lead and manage the team responsible for L2 support, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.

Continuously improve the development process and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Skills

Must have

More than 5 years of proficiency in Kotlin, SQL, Java, Oracle, Openshift/Cloud, Spring Boot, and Http4k.

Proven experience in software development.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

A proactive and positive attitude, with a passion for technology and continuous learning.

Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Interest in team management as a growth opportunity.

Nice to have

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.

Self-starter who can work independently.
