About You

A Senior Lookdev artist at the Embassy has industry experience in film, commercials, and/or TV. They thrive in an environment with the freedom to leverage all aspects of our feature-film level pipeline to get assets to final. They are good communicators who can give and receive feedback and apply it to their work. They have a keen eye for lighting photorealistic and stylized shots. Combined with their artistic skills and technical knowledge in shading, they know how to take an asset through the entire Lookdev process successfully.

Your Role

• Texture and shade assets in Houdini. Take an asset to a final quality hitting all notes
• Houdini fur and hair grooming are extremely desirable
  
• Ensure assets meet rendering requirements.
• Meet project milestones and deadlines on time.
• Collaborate with other artists to share knowledge and techniques.
• Make corrections and adjustments requested by the supervisor.

Your Qualifications

• 5+ years of Lookdev experience in commercials, film, or TV
• Ideally skilled in using software including Houdini, Redshift, Mari, Substance and Nuke
• Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to take direction positively and work well within a team
• Solid understanding of look development fundamentals and tools
• Good understanding of colour/lighting
• Good understanding of physically plausible rendering
• Understanding of rendering efficiency, providing assets to effectively work within the different shot requirements
• Legal authorization to work in Canada

Salary Range: $43.50 - $56.00 per hour.

This range denotes the minimum and maximum compensation limits for this role within the province of British Columbia, adhering to local legal requirements. It's essential to recognize that the salary range for this position may vary when compared to markets outside of British Columbia, with potential variations in both lower and higher figures. The base pay offered is contingent upon factors including internal equity assessments and elements such as the candidate's geographic location, job-related expertise, skills, experience, and other pertinent qualifications.
