Samsung Semiconductor is looking for a Senior Manager, NAND/SSD Field Application Engineer to join their Customer Engineering team. This role requires 13+ years of industry experience, 7+ years of memory/storage engineering experience, and strong communication skills. You will be responsible for managing technical accounts for Client / Automotive / Mobile customers, identifying business opportunities, and providing technical solutions for NAND solutions. You will also be involved in managing collaborations with SoC vendors and Korea HQ, and providing strategic input to Korea HQ regarding the technology trend.

What You’ll Do

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for Senior Manager, NAND/SSD Field Application Engineer join the Customer Engineering team that manages the technical account for Client / Automotive / Mobile customers including SoC vendors with various NAND solutions (e.g. eMMC, UFS and SSD) to maintain the close customer engineering relationship and NAND solution product technology leadership to maximize sales contribution.

Create global demand by identifying business opportunities, providing Samsung NAND Solution technologies and solutions for future designs for the specific assigned accounts, and managing all technical related issues.

Location: Working hybrid onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3-4 days per week with the remaining remote

Reports to: Senior Director

 

  • Collaborate/Manage SoC vendor(s) to assure that all NAND solutions are well aligned with Eco trends
    • Manage tech trend and SoC roadmap and identify the technology solutions
    • Manage collaborations with SoC vendors and Korea HQ for PoC / Joint Validation
      • Coordinate test collaboration including test infrastructures, samples, and actions with Korea HQ
    • Provide strategic input to Korea HQ regarding the technology trend in order to create new product offerings or to improve the R&R and the strategic partnership with the customer(s)

 

  • Identify design-in opportunities for NAND solutions & provide the best solutions for the customer(s) in order to secure maximum number of design-wins
    • Manage progress of design-in and the requests from customer for qualification
      • Defining specification, Understanding requirements
      • Managing project activities and action items from customers
        • Well understanding customer’s working process
        • Deliver right solution or finding alternative with engineering team
      • Tight/Precise sample management with planning
    • Provide the right solution or find alternative with engineering team
      • Understanding technology, specific application type, market demand/sector, lifecycle, global qualification activities and technical data in order to secure maximum design-wins
    • Plan/Discuss future products and align in new demand opportunity with customer

What You Bring

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 15+ years of experience or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 13+ years of Industry Experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 10+ years of Industry Experience Preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional work experience in memory/storage engineering experience.
  • Prefer exceptional people skills and the ability to work directly with customers.
  • Prefer the experience of the working with Mobile / Automotive SoC vendors
  • Prior Flash NAND or Storage (SSD/HDD) engineering experience as well as direct communication interface experience with the customer(s) is desired.
  • Strong communication skills.

Base Pay Range

$161,700 - $258,300 USD
