We are seeking a passionate and seasoned Senior Marketing Artist to define the initial global experience of Scars of Honor. As a key member of the marketing team, you will be responsible for creating high-impact key art, promotional visuals, and event artwork for both online and offline campaigns. This role requires strong visual storytelling, a deep understanding of fantasy aesthetics, and the ability to produce both detailed hero pieces and quick campaign assets.
Good To Have:
  • Experience preparing assets for Steam, Epic, or console stores and performance ad formats.
  • Familiarity with motion needs (layering for trailers, parallax, title cards).
  • Strong understanding of MMORPG audiences and fantasy visual language.
  • Basic 3D/blockout skills (Blender, ZBrush, Substance, Marmoset) for lighting or compositional reference.
Must Have:
  • Create hero key art for website, store pages, trailers, and PR.
  • Produce visuals for Early Access, patches, in-game events, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Stage characters and environments from the game engine for dynamic compositions.
  • Execute high-quality paint-overs to enhance storytelling and consistency.
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear visual narratives.
  • Balance high-polish art with rapid-turn assets and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Marketing leadership, Art Director, and Graphic Designer.
  • Deliver clean, layered source files and ensure brand consistency.
  • Capture the tone, lore, and epic feel of Scars of Honor through art.
  • 5-8+ years creating marketing art or key visuals for games/entertainment.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong composition, lighting, and storytelling.
  • Mastery of Adobe Photoshop for painting, photobash, and compositing.
  • Experience with character posing, anatomy, and paint-overs of 3D/in-engine assets.
  • Familiarity with Unity for capturing or staging references.
  • Ability to align with established art direction and take creative ownership.
  • Understanding of marketing principles for effective communication.
  • Excellent collaboration skills for feedback and iteration.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken) and available within EU timezone (±3 hours CET).

About the role

As an active member of the marketing team and working closely with the Art Director and Graphic Designer, you will own the creation of high-impact key art, promotional visuals, and event artwork across online and offline campaigns.

You combine strong visual storytelling with a deep understanding of fantasy aesthetics and marketing goals. This role requires a senior-level eye for composition and anatomy, technical agility, and the ability to move effortlessly between long-form hero pieces and fast-turn campaign assets.

Responsibilities

1. Create Key Art & Campaign Visuals: Conceive, iterate, and deliver hero key art for website, store pages, trailers, and PR moments.

2. Event & Live Ops Artwork: Produce visuals for Early Access beats, patches, in-game events, bundles, and seasonal campaigns; in collaboration with the internal Graphic Designer, to be adapted across formats such as social, paid UA, store capsules, and print.

3. Character Posing & Paint-Overs: Stage or extract characters and environments from the game engine to build dynamic compositions and execute high-quality paint-overs that enhance storytelling and consistency with in-game art.

4. Storytelling & Readability: Turn marketing objectives into visual narratives that clearly communicate value propositions, features, factions, and emotions — both at full size and thumbnail.

5. Adapt & Iterate Quickly: Balance high-polish art pieces with rapid-turn assets; manage shifting priorities and deliver on tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

6. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing leadership (for messaging and creative briefs), the Art Director (for style alignment), and the Graphic Designer (for layout, typography, and brand cohesion).

7. Production Excellence: Deliver clean, layered source files; manage exports and handoffs for trailers, motion, and localization; ensure brand and visual consistency across all touchpoints.

8. Fantasy Worldbuilding Through Art: Capture the tone, lore, and epic feel of Scars of Honor, making every piece of art a window into its world.

Requirements

1. 5 - 8+ years creating marketing art or key visuals for games or entertainment properties (PC/console titles preferred).

2. Portfolio demonstrating high-quality key art, character compositions, and promotional pieces with strong composition, lighting, and storytelling.

3. Mastery of Adobe Photoshop for painting, photobash, compositing, and final polish.

4. Experience with character posing and anatomy, including paint-overs of 3D or in-engine assets to achieve dynamic, believable results.

5. Familiarity with Unity for capturing or staging references (no development experience required).

6. Stay open to new technologies and creative accelerators that enhance iteration and exploration.

7. Ability to align with an established art direction while bringing senior-level taste and creative ownership.

8. Understanding of marketing principles: how to create art that communicates, converts, and inspires.

9. Excellent collaboration skills; able to receive feedback from both artists and non-artists and iterate efficiently.

10. Comfortable working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment with high autonomy.

11. Fluent in English (written & spoken) and available within the EU timezone (±3 hours CET).
