We are Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge. We are actively seeking skilled individuals to join our team to work on The Witcher Remake, developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED studio. Sounds interesting? Get in touch with us!

Responsibilities

  • Creating photorealistic materials for different uses (tiling, decals, atlases etc.),
  • Building and maintaining a high-quality PBR material library,
  • Collaborating in the creation of concepts and plans for locations/assets,
  • Collaborating effectively with Environment, Character, Concept Art and Lighting Teams to produce consistent and high quality materials,
  • Cooperating with Technical Artists to prepare shaders,
  • Planning and working with scanned data,
  • Creating high-quality realistic textures/materials using tools, such as Substance Designer / Painter, ZBrush & Photoshop,
  • Collaborating with Tech Art to develop material art pipelines,
  • Working closely with the Art Director to achieve a consistent look for materials,
  • Creating documentation supporting techniques and processes,
  • Mentoring and guiding fellow artists to foster team growth,
  • Maintaining the production pipeline and meeting deadlines,
  • Working with the production team for scope and scheduling.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience and one shipped AAA title,
  • Strong skills in procedural material creation software (Adobe Substance 3D Designer),
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent,
  • Experience in prototyping and master material creation in Unreal Engine,
  • Efficient skills in one of the leading modelling packages (3DS Max, Maya, Blender etc.),
  • Good knowledge of colour theory and lighting technical specifications,
  • Strong understanding of physically based rendering practices (PBR),
  • Experience with the Photogrammetry asset creation workflow and training other team members
  • Fluent English.
  • Refraining from using AI generative tools to produce imagery for this job.

About The Company
