Trackman is looking for a Senior Optical Engineer

We offer an exciting opportunity in our R&D hardware team. At Trackman we are growing, as we are constantly striving to develop, produce and deploy our market leading sport tracking solutions within golf, baseball, football and more. Our Innovative products are based on multi sensor technology including radar and vision-based sensors to measure anything that enables sports enthusiasts to improve their game. We’re therefore looking for an experienced and highly motivated optical engineer for development of the next generation of products.

Are you our new Optics Engineer?

You will have a close working relationship with our talented mechanical- & electrical engineers in R&D hardware, optical tracking, and software, as well as colleagues from our in-house production, sourcing, and management. You will have the opportunity to engage with various image sensor technologies in both high and low volume.


What will you be doing?

  • Working on our next generation flagship optics- and radar technology!
  • Lead the optical system design in new and existing products to deliver target camera performance including image sensors, camera optics, optical filters, light budget and image processing pipelines.
  • Understand the technology trends and be part of our innovation process.
  • Converse with internal and external customers and give guidance in terms of roadmap development with particular focus on camera module performance
  • Work with image sensor and camera module vendors to define roadmaps, priorities, and custom solutions for vision-based tracking
  • Leading design reviews, selecting suppliers, defining requirements for production process (e.g. active alignment of lenses) test/tooling fixtures to achieve targeted optical performance.
  • Perform tolerance analysis to have a complete system design with full consideration of alignment process, system calibrations and Opto-mech design limitations by interfacing with other groups (e.g. Mechanical Engineering and Tracking teams).
  • Debugging and troubleshooting of any optical problems that arise with the system
  • Working with all phases of the product development process from concept, design, system integration, validation, maturation and documentation in order to deliver on customer expectations, desired quality, at the right time and unit cost.

Job requirements

What are we looking for?

  • M.Sc/Ph.D. in Optics, Imaging Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields/experience
  • Highly desired to have strong background in following disciplines: IR and visual light, Camera Sensors, Geometrical optics, Lens design, Optical metrology, Illumination optics, Optical imaging system, Optical alignment or similar
  • Hands-on with optical lab equipment (spectrophotometer, photo detector, light source, etc.)
  • Experience supporting volume manufacturing is a plus, such as failure analysis, statistical analysis, etc.
  • Experience with consumer electronics manufacturing, partnering with high volume suppliers and contract manufacturers
