Senior Portfolio Analyst, PlayStation Studios

Team – Portfolio Strategy and Franchise Development // Office of Product Management // PlayStation Studios

Location – San Mateo/LA Preferred, Remote Considered.

 

The Senior Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for providing data-driven insights that inform strategic investment decisions for the portfolio.  You’ll help evaluate titles based on market attractiveness, commercial potential, profitability, and portfolio fit.  You’ll collaborate with data, consumer insights, user research, product management, and other teams to gather qualitative and quantitative insights that validate new concepts and assess its contribution to the overall portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our target audience and the competitive landscape across all genres and platforms, conducting in-depth motivation profiling to effectively analyze the market.
  • Evaluate new game pitches for commercial and portfolio fit.
  • Assess and size the addressable market for potential new game concepts and evaluate their resonance and feature differentiation.
  • Evaluate incrementality to the portfolio and strategic contribution.
  • Analyze business model market trends and assess implications to future new game concepts.
  • Create in-depth competitor tear downs, detailing current strategies, market positioning, and product evaluations.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, and conducting frequent game reviews of competitor products.

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in product management in the gaming industry.
  • Deep understanding of game mechanics, player engagement, and user experience to evaluate new game concepts and their commercial viability.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and player preferences to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, and customer-centric mindset.
  • Passion for innovation and pushing the boundaries of creative possibilities.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$167,200 - $250,800 USD
