Senior Power Supply Design Engineer
Job Summary
Job Description
The role involves researching and defining switching mode power supply topologies based on company product specialties. The engineer will assist in new product development, design and develop switching power supply units using company products for documentation and customer requirements, and evaluate power supplies built with company products. This position also requires providing worldwide customer support and technical advice for switching power supplies, as well as researching and writing technical application materials for publication and presentation. Other duties as assigned.
Must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of Power Supply Design Engineer experience
- Experience in power converters/conversion/management
- Experience in switching/switch mode power supply units
- Experience in inverters or power electronics design equipment
- Experience in analog electronics design
- Experience in control loop design
- Experience in power magnetics design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to create specifications and technical reports
- Ability to create test plans/instructions
- Team player
Good to have:
- Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial electronic equipment or consumer devices

Responsibilities
- Researches and defines switching mode power supply topologies based on the specialties of the company's products
- Assists in new product development and research new applications for both new and older generations of Power Integrations’ IC products
- Designs and develops switching power supply units (psu) using the company's products for design documentation/training material or customer requirements
- Evaluates switching power supplies built with the company’s products
- Provides switching power supply design support and technical advice to the company's customers worldwide
- Researches and write technical application materials for publication and presentation at technical conferences, industry seminars, trade magazines and data books
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of experience as Power Supply Design Engineer or design experience in any of the following areas: power converters/conversion/management, switching/switch mode power supply units (psu), inverters, power electronics design equipment, analog electronics design, control loop design and power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)
- Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial electronic equipment or consumer devices is desirable
- Excellent written and oral communications with experience in specification creation, technical report writing and test plans/instructions
- Team player
