Job Description

Gunzilla Games seeks a Senior Procedural Technical Artist for their AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, Off The Grid. Responsibilities include collaborating with artists on best practices and workflows, accelerating world-building, creating developer-friendly tools, streamlining workflows, prototyping art pipelines, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate possesses expert Houdini and Python skills, understands 3D modeling, and can create memory-efficient, high-performing tools. Experience with Unreal PCG is a plus. The role involves tackling complex technical challenges and working autonomously.

Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK. ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking for a Senior Procedural Technical Artist to join us in working on OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, currently available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S, and PC.

Our ideal candidate should have strong experience as a procedural technical artist in the game development industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with artists to create best practices and optimal workflows
  • Speed up the world-building while being able to adapt to artistic and project-requirements
  • Create developer-friendly tools
  • Streamline workflows by proactively finding solutions and by working with the production teams
  • Research and develop prototypes for art pipelines and help bring your coworkers’ ideas to life
  • Mentoring of other team members

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good understanding of 3D modelling workflows
  • Expert knowledge of Houdini and the creation of Houdini Digital Assets
  • Working knowledge of Python and Houdini's Python API
  • Take ownership of tools that are memory efficient and performant
  • Provide clear solutions to complicated issues
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box to overcome technical challenges
  • Ability to self-direct, and be autonomous when required
  • Unreal PCG experience is a Plus
