About The Role

Minecraft is one of the most beloved and influential games in the world, and this role is central to shaping its future. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager (PM) to take ownership of one of the most impactful areas of Minecraft – the expansion of core gameplay. Your decisions will shape how millions of players experience Minecraft, from core mechanics to long-term engagement, and will directly contribute to keeping the game fresh, fun, and meaningful for years to come.

In this role, you will own one of two product areas within gameplay – the expansion area. You will be responsible for driving innovation and evolution within Minecraft’s core gameplay experience, collaborating with our Game Director, Producers, and other Directors and Leads, as well as marketing, insights, and business teams, to ensure Minecraft continues to engage and delight players around the world.

As Senior PM, you will have one Senior Producer reporting to you and multiple scrum teams within the product area (currently two, with plans to expand). You will drive a strategic and high-impact gameplay roadmap, ensuring alignment between teams and pushing the boundaries of what Minecraft can offer.

This role carries significant responsibility and accountability for the long-term success and sustainability of Minecraft’s gameplay. Your ability to align teams, balance creative ambitions with player needs, and make data-informed, player-focused decisions will directly shape the future of the game.

You will report to the Minecraft Game Production Director.

Responsibilities

  • Own and define the gameplay expansion roadmap, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of Minecraft’s core experience.
  • Drive and analyze gameplay and performance metrics, measuring the impact of new features and updates while making data- and player-informed decisions.
  • Lead and empower cross-functional gameplay teams, setting clear goals and driving alignment between design, engineering, and production to deliver world-class gameplay experiences.
  • Take responsibility for delivering compelling, creative, and scalable gameplay updates that support both our Java and Bedrock editions across a wide array of platforms, including Mac/Windows, iPhone, Android, and Xbox.
  • Champion a hypothesis-driven, iterative development approach, leveraging experimentation, player feedback, and rapid iteration to improve gameplay mechanics and content.
  • Partner closely with marketing, data, and business teams to ensure gameplay expansions align with player expectations, business objectives, and opportunities beyond the game, such as consumer products and franchise events.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and decision-maker in cross-functional discussions, ensuring transparency, alignment, and execution at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A visionary leader with exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of driving vision, alignment, and execution across large, complex teams.
  • Proven track record of leading gameplay-focused initiatives in live games, with deep expertise in player behavior, engagement mechanics, and game design principles.
  • Previous experience within gaming at senior level as product manager or in equal role, preferably within gaming, technology, or interactive entertainment.
  • Experience owning high-impact strategic decisions and delivering measurable player and business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong player-centric mindset, with the ability to translate creative visions into impactful and engaging gameplay experiences.
  • Deep knowledge of sandbox, survival, and creative gameplay mechanics, particularly within open-world games.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, ensuring alignment between gameplay, marketing, business, and data teams to maximize the impact of new features.
  • Passion for empowering teams and fostering an environment of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.

What You Need to Know
We’re looking for candidates who are eligible to work in Sweden. Since our hybrid work model requires two onsite days per week, you’ll need to be based in Stockholm to collaborate with your team and soak up the studio energy.

We are happy to welcome international talent and talent outside Stockholm; however, we will not be able to financially support your relocation. If you are located out of Stockholm, relocation is a must.
