Elevation is seeking a Senior 3D Interactions Programmer to help create world-leading innovation in software and VR hardware. As a Senior 3D Interactions Programmer, you will be responsible for prototyping and collaborating with a diverse team, creating genre-leading titles, driving high levels of innovation, and refining intuitive VR games. The role involves developing and refining the system for player character interactions in Unreal Engine 5, enhancing 3D systems, supporting other disciplines, ensuring clean code, estimating task timescales, contributing to technical design and project planning, and working within an agile sprint-based methodology.
Must have:
  • Develop and refine player character VR interactions in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Enhance and develop C++ and blueprint 3D systems for object manipulation.
  • Support other disciplines in creating interactive game content.
  • Ensure code is clean, organized, and easy to maintain.
  • Break down and estimate timescales for tasks.
  • Contribute to technical design and project planning.
  • Drive technical innovation.

Job Details

Elevation will re-establish the boundaries of VR. We’re looking for an exceptionally talented Senior 3D Interactions Programmer to help us explore, create, and deliver world leading innovation in software and VR hardware. Become one of the founding members of Elevation, pathfinding a remote first studio, crafting a new generation of VR development and bringing core VR games to fruition. 

As a Senior 3D Interactions Programmer, you will be responsible for prototyping and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and developers, capable of creating genre leading titles. You will be driving high levels of innovation and implementation with both your team and your own work. You will own and drive the discovery, implementation, and refinement of intuitive, world class and aspirational VR games.   

The rundown:  

  • 12-month fixed term contract  
  • Full time (37.5 hours per week) 
  • Fully remote within the UK 
  • Salary is competitive and dependent on experience 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the system that powers the player character’s VR interactions with the world in Unreal Engine 5.  
  • Enhance and develop the C++ and blueprint 3D systems that allow the player to manipulate the world and objects and propel themselves around the environment.  
  • Support other disciplines in creating robust and performant interactive game content.  
  • Work with peers to ensure our code is clean, organised and easy to maintain.    
  • Break down and estimate timescales for your tasks.  
  • Help with the higher-level technical design and project planning for your areas of work.   
  • Contribute to nDreams shared studio technology and drive technical innovation.   
  • Work within an agile sprint-based ‘fail-faster succeed-sooner' methodology when discovering and exploring new interaction techniques.  
  • Be a positive behavioural and mental role model for the team and studio.
