Job Details

At NXP’s Automotive Embedded Systems Business Line, we develop integrated circuits (ICs) for the connected car, covering domains such as in-vehicle networking, automotive lighting, audio systems, power management, and radar. Our 77GHz radar development team is located in Grenoble and Toulouse and responsible for designing transceivers for automotive radar applications, enabling features from parking assistance to adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, and autonomous driving.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the development of RF and mmWave radar solutions in collaboration with cross-functional and international teams.

Purpose of the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex RF/mmWave IC development projects. You will be part of a team of 20-30 people including RF IC architects, RF Design Engineers, System Engineers and Verification/Modeling Engineers. As a project manager, you will manage project timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements from concept to market release. The projects are executed in close cooperation with other Product R&D Centers located in Europe and India.

Your Responsibilities

Team Building:

  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering team including RF architects, IC designers, validation engineers, verification engineers, digital engineers, test engineers and functional safety experts.
  • Inspire, encourage the team members to high level of motivation and commitment.
  • Open problem discussion, effective issue resolution.
  • Recognize team conflict, support, and coach team individuals, to maintain team focus and meet targets together.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between R&D teams and managements.

Project Execution:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for RF/mmWave IC development for automotive radar applications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics (KPIs). Plan the different steps of the project : provide a work Breakdown Structure Plan, manage dependencies and critical paths.
  • Ensure planned project activities are executed timely and efficiently to meet the production start and release schedule.
  • Reports project progress and gate passing in the meetings.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. Use of tools as FMEA and Maturity Metrics.
  • Support product validation, qualification, industrialization, and production.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution and development processes.
  • Execution of Project Management according to the BL quality requirements, we also expect that the project manager challenge these requirements to improve business standards.

Interface to Stakeholders:

  • Align with the Program manager, PL Program and Product Architect to meet customer expectations (timeline, KPI,…). We also expect that the project manager gives advice to the management on decision taken and PL roadmap.
  • Timely escalation of issues and risks to management and ownership to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance to product policies and guidelines, quality targets and NXP General Quality Specifications.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • MSc degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Around 5+ years of relevant experience in directing IC projects in relevant technological areas (semi-conductor or electronics).
  • Solid understanding of RF/mmWave technologies or strong ability to manage technically complex projects.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • The ability to perform in a high pressure environment with a challenging timeframe in order to realize the requested radar products of high demanding customers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly agile in achieving success within a constantly evolving environment.
  • Comfortable working in multicultural, cross-functional environments.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Proactive, structured, and results-oriented mindset.
