Job Description

The Senior Ruby Engineer will be responsible for building API interfaces and backend infrastructure. They will collaborate with UI, connectivity, and DevOps teams to create elegant solutions to complex problems. The role involves building and maintaining Workato's Connector, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code. The engineer will also evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems and support continuous improvement by exploring alternative technologies. This position requires a strong understanding of distributed systems and Ruby development.
Must have:
  • Build and maintain Workato’s Connector
  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • 4-8 years of industry experience
  • Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available system
  • Vast knowledge in Ruby Development
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, problem solving, and social skills
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design
Good to have:
  • Experience with Redis/Memcache based caching is plus
  • Experience with RDBMS engines (Postgres preferred) is plus
  • Contributions to Open Source projects would be a plus

Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Ruby Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for building API interfaces and backend infrastructure and collaborate with UI, connectivity and DevOps teams to come up with elegant solutions to complex problems. You will also be responsible to:

  • Build and maintain Workato’s Connector

  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle

  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code

  • Evaluate and propose improvements to existing system

  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • 4-8 years of industry experience

  • Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available system

  • Vast knowledge in Ruby Development.

  • Excellent debugging, analytical, problem solving, and social skills

  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design

  • Experience with Redis/Memcache based caching is plus

  • Experience with RDBMS engines (Postgres preferred) is plus 

  • Contributions to Open Source projects would be a plus
