Job Description

As a Senior SDET/QA Automation Engineer at CloudLinux, you'll focus on ensuring released code is thoroughly tested and contribute to seamless, rapid release processes. Responsibilities involve developing and maintaining automated tests in Python, supporting QA server infrastructure, conducting load testing, reproducing user problems, managing release schedules, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, deploying to staging and production, collaborating with developers, and maintaining internal documentation. You'll work with a SaaS product impacting millions of websites, requiring attention to detail and a high standard of quality.
Must have:
  • 3+ years SDET/QA Automation experience
  • 3+ years Python proficiency

In this role, you will have two main focuses. Firstly, you will ensure the released code is properly tested. Secondly, you will work on providing seamless and rapid release processes for all the apps owned by the team.

The component you will take responsibility for is offered as SaaS and is delivered from our own centralized infrastructure. This role is incredibly demanding and intriguing, given the scalability challenges and sensitive nature of the data we deal with. A thorough understanding of Python, testing tools, CI/CD tools, and security is crucial. 

Your work directly impacts the safety and functionality of millions of websites worldwide, so attention to detail and a high-quality standard are paramount.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated testing scripts using Python.
  • Support the farm of servers with our software installed for QA purposes.
  • Design, implement, and perform load-testing to evaluate application performance and scalability under various conditions.
  • Reproduce end users’ problems.
  • Maintain the release schedule for all the services and ensure alignment across other teams.
  • Tweak CI/CD process for all the applications to ensure rapid and reliable releases.
  • Deployments to the staging and production environments.
  • Coordinate with developers to ensure thorough QA testing is performed on all applications prior to release.
  • Tweak deployment environments.
  • Support internal documentation.

Requirements

To thrive in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as an SDET/QA Automation Engineer (at least 3 years).
  • Proficient in writing code in Python (at least 3 years).
  • Strong experience with Linux as a development and deployment environment.
  • Proficiency with Git for version control.
  • Experience with containers, such as Docker, for development and production.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automation tools (preferably GitLab).
  • Understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with testing tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
  • Experience with load testing tools like JMeter/Locust.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • An upper-intermediate level of English language proficiency.
  • Ability to work with vague requirements.
  • You are a team player who can collaborate effectively.

It will be a plus if you also have:

  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with tools for managing task queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
