Perplexity is seeking an experienced Search Engineer to shape the future of the search infrastructure that powers our products. If you're keen on pushing boundaries and making a significant impact, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Designing and building large-scale infrastructure to power crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems.
Scaling and optimizing search engine for maximum efficiency.
Enhancing serving infrastructure to reduce costs and latency while maintaining 99.9% uptime.
Training and evaluating ranking models, including LLMs.

Qualifications

Proven track record working with large-scale search and retrieval systems.
Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
Minimum of 5 years of working on search-related projects.
Deep understanding of the search and retrieval systems.

Our cash compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $250,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
