Job Description

This Senior Silicon Product Engineer role at Google involves developing and deploying comprehensive test solutions for high-volume manufacturing of custom silicon solutions powering Google's consumer products. Responsibilities include SoC product specification reviews, DFT architecture reviews, supporting test hardware design, performing package-level bring-ups, troubleshooting failure modes, IDS and KPI characterization, OSAT bring-up, and timely ATE/SLT manufacturing test program releases. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal test coverage and cost-effective production test solutions. The engineer will also contribute to the innovation behind products used by millions worldwide, shaping next-generation hardware experiences.
Must have:
  • 5+ years VLSI, product & test engineering, semiconductor processing experience
  • Cross-functional team leadership & technology development with vendors
  • ATE or System-Level testing using AdvanTest or UFlex systems
  • SoC product specifications and DFT architecture reviews
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in relevant engineering field
  • ML-based statistical automation experience
  • System Level Testing (SLT) using Advantest SLT platform
  • DFT techniques & structural tests (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST)
  • Advanced packaging (2.5D, InFo)
  • Experience with PCIe, DDR, Mixed-Signal circuits

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, a related degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with VLSI technologies, product and test engineering, and semiconductor processing.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving technology development with vendors/suppliers.
  • Experience in ATE or System-Level testings using AdvanTest or UFlex systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, related degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with ML-based statistical automation to improve test cost, coverage, and quality in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Experience with System Level Testing, (SLT) using Advantest SLT platform.
  • Experience with design for test (DFT) techniques and structural tests such as Scan/ATPG, JTAG and memory BIST and with testing sensors such as PVT sensors, Temp sensors, etc.
  • Experience with advanced packaging (e.g., 2.5d and InFo).
  • Experience with PCIe, DDR and Mixed-Signal circuits (e.g., ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, and their performance measurements).

In this role you will help develop and deploy a comprehensive test solution using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for high volume manufacturing at FABs, OSATs that meets final product's performance and power specifications. You'll help integrate SoC technologies into devices and facilitate ATE manufacturing testing of SoC to validate performance and screen out devices. You will own all aspects of testing and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal test coverage in production to ensure high quality SoCs. You will work with various groups to develop digital and mixed signal tests, automation methodologies, develop/support internal tools for test program generation, vector tracking, test program release, etc. You will also work on releasing cost effective production test solutions into mass production.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Perform SoC product specifications and DFT architecture reviews and generate NPI characterization, test, and manufacturing plans.
  • Support test hardware design (e.g., probe card, Load board) requirements, ATE / SLT test program review.
  • Perform package level bring-ups, trouble-shoot different failure modes, and help resolve issues by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform IDS and Key KPI characterization and systems correlation, conduct reviews, generate reports to meet product's AI performance and power goals.
  • Support OSAT bring up, timley ATE/SLT manufacturing test programs releases and meet test cost goals.
