Our Infrastructure Team
We’re taking the Horizon franchise online and are building the technology for a multiplayer game! The Online Infrastructure Platform team works closely with designers and developers to build a scalable, reliable, and flexible platform to develop and run the game.
Our team is deeply invested in the implementation of industry best-practices in the areas of platform engineering and infrastructure management.
By joining us you will meaningfully contribute to the development of our platform and work side by side with artists, designers, developers, and game programmers in a highly ambitious and creative atmosphere. Our goal is to build world-class infrastructure and systems that support and delight developers, artists, and users alike.
Our Technology Stack:
- Our infrastructure stack revolves mostly around the CNCF and Kubernetes landscape.
- Our game servers run our own engine: “Decima” and communicate over a custom UDP-based protocol.
- For backend and game-related services, we use well-known web technologies like Spring and Kotlin. Our game communicates through REST APIs and has a persistent HTTPS connection to receive notifications.
- To build and run the game at scale we use industry-standard solutions, running all our binaries in Kubernetes using AWS EKS clusters. We utilize several AWS services including S3, SQS, Elastic Load Balancers, and Kinesis Firehose.
- We manage our environment’s infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt and Crossplane, hosted in Git, alongside automation pipelines with Jenkins, and the Argo Landscape of projects, adhering to GitOps principles.
- Observability is driven by Prometheus, Opensearch, and Grafana, with additional logging and monitoring solutions to ensure optimal performance and security.
