Nasdaq is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Bangalore Data Link team in India. The role involves working on software solutions, participating in the software lifecycle, collaborating with business partners, and driving continuous improvements. The candidate will work closely with colleagues in Bangalore and Nasdaq teams in other countries. The responsibilities include defining the platform for next-generation data platforms, working with a team of engineers, building APIs and data products, and staying ahead of technological trends. Successful candidates should be problem solvers and be eager to take the lead on projects. They will be expected to develop and implement software solutions, with a focus on data streaming technologies and building great products.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years' experience in software engineering.
  • Java, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
  • Experience with microservices architectures and containerization.
  • Building and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes.
  • Pragmatic programming skills in Core Java.
  • Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting.
  • Translate business requirements to technical specifications.
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with parallel computing technologies like Spark.
  • Familiarity with high volume, low latency systems.
  • Understanding of network communications protocols.
  • Hands-on-experience building infrastructure-as-code.

Participate in all phases of software life-cycle including architecture, design, implement, test, and launch 

Collaborate with business partners to capture requirements, implement new functionality, and drive continuous improvements 

Successful candidates will be curious, independent problem solvers who are excited by challenges and driven by building great products.   They will play a key role in developing Nasdaq’s Data Platform product offerings.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer, your focus will be developing and implementing software solutions. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.  

  • Participate in early stage of projects in defining the platform for the next generation data platforms and analytics products. 
  • Work with a team of engineers with deep experience in streaming, distributed microservices, and full stack systems. 
  • Build APIs, pipelines, and data products for multi-tenant, high-volume, distributed, and real-time systems. 
  • You will develop software systems from ground up using a modern technology stack such as Core Java, Python, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, PostgreSQL, and Redis. 
  • Stay ahead of on technological and analytical trends. 
  • Be passionate about experimentation and testing new insights. 

 

We expect you to have:

  • Seeking individuals with 3-5 years' experience in a software engineering role 

Primary Skills: 

  • Java, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure such as AWS. 
  • Working with public cloud providers, microservices architectures, containerization, and distributed systems. 
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes. 
  • Pragmatic programming skills in Core Java. 
  • Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting. 
  • Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications/designs. 
  • Proven communication skills: speaking, writing, and presenting. 

 

Soft Skills: 

  • Problem solving and analytical skills, independent worker. 
  • Value teamwork, communication, transparency and structure. 
  • Be eager to take the lead and ownership of the projects they work on. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Education Qualification- Degree in Computer Science or related field

It would be great if you

  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka. 
  • Experience with parallel computing, stream processing technologies: Spark, Flink, etc.  
  • Familiarity with high volume, highly available, low latency systems. 
  • Understanding of network communications protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, unicast, multicast. 
  • Hands-on-experience building infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Terraform and building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub, etc.
