Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and architecting the digital services for Hong Kong Disneyland. You will be responsible for leading software development efforts, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating with business and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. Your responsibilities include: * Defining and executing software development plans, managing timelines, resources, and adhering to best practices for design and coding. * Working closely with business and operations teams to understand and refine requirements, translating them into clear technical specifications. * Continuously evolving the architecture and implementing improvements to optimize system scalability and availability. * Collaborating with vendors to review deliverables, ensuring code quality meets standards and seamless integration with core systems. * Providing third-tier support and expertise to the sustainment team, troubleshooting critical issues as needed. * Recommending new technologies and tools to enhance CI/CD processes, procedures, and tooling.

Must have:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of full-cycle software development experience
Practical experience with Java and JavaEE application development
Experience with Rich Internet Application (JavaScript, JSON, CSS, SOAP/RESTful web services)
Knowledge of Amazon Dynamo DB
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Experience with Scrum and Agile development practices
Fluency in English and Cantonese

Good to have:

Knowledge of NodeJS

Job Summary:

Working with a highly collaborative and diversifying group, you will be taking up a technical lead role to build and architect the digital services provided by Hong Kong Disneyland. You can leverage on the benefits of working in an international world-class company to develop and contribute your passion in software development, which we believe that each of our technical team members is fundamental to contribute to our costumers’ happiness.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for software development plan, timeline, resources, and execute thoroughly for the delivery cycle with the best design and coding practice
Work and interact with business and operations teams to refine business and operations requirements into clear technical requirements
Continue to evolve our architecture and build better software to optimize scalability and availability of our systems
Collaborate closely with vendors to review the deliverables, ensure the code quality is compliant with standards and integrate the deliverables with the core systems
Provide 3rd tier support and advisories to the sustainment team and troubleshoot critical issues when necessary
Recommend technologies and tools to improve our CI/CD tools, process and procedures

Basic Qualification:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
8+ years with full cycle of software development experience
Practical experience of Java and JavaEE application development and Rich Internet Application (i.e. JavaScript, JSON, CSS, SOAP/RESTful web services)
Knowledge of Amazon Dynamo DB, NodeJS is preferred.
Good team player with the ability to think beyond “why” behind your work and hunger to learn and apply your skills to solve work challenges
Experience with Scrum and Agile development practices and Cloud-based and container services
Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese
