Do you have a passion for User Interface technologies and User Experiences? Would you like to join the Diablo 4 Engine Team and help make an incredible UI framework for our developers?

As a specialist engineer in User Interface (UI) technologies, you will play a key role in shaping the visual and interactive aspects of our games. You will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other engineers to implement intuitive, responsive, and performant UI Engine features. Your expertise in UI development will be instrumental in driving cutting-edge interfaces across various gaming platforms.

The Engine team helps bring Diablo to life by owning foundational technology such as UI/UX, Accessibility, Console Platforms, Animation, VFX and Physics.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine CA or Albany, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new engine features and capabilities with a focus on UI/UX.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate conceptual UI/UX designs into interactive and visually appealing interfaces.

  • Provide expertise and mentorship to both your leads and junior engineers on your team.

  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in UI/UX design and gaming industry best practices, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our development workflows and codebase.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 Years of prior UI framework engineering experience.

  • Familiarity with industry known UI technologies and paradigms such as Layout Systems, WPF and XAML, DataBinding, Input Routing, Font Handling and Rendering.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers of all disciplines and technical skill levels.

  • Proficiency with C++.

Bonus:

  • Familiarity with C#

  • Strong Math skills.

  • Experience developing for, and optimizing, console platforms.

  • Shipped at least one AAA game title in a similar role.

  • A degree in computer science, or a related field.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
