Summary

Valeo's Lidar department in Prague seeks a Senior Software Tool Developer to contribute to the development of their flagship SCALA® lidar sensor. Responsibilities include developing software tools and KPI scripts for algorithm and system validation/verification, participating in SW architecture definition and improvement, designing and implementing a SW toolchain, documenting solutions, performing code reviews, and actively participating in integration and system testing. The role also involves collaborating on system specifications, communicating with teams and customers, and ensuring software quality. The successful candidate will have extensive Python (7+ years) and C/C++ experience, a solid understanding of linear algebra, and experience with validation and test automation tools.

Project description

The Lidar department of the Valeo R&D Center in Prague is developing the flagship among our
sensors: the Valeo SCALA® lidar is the first and still the only mass-produced automotive laser
sensor on the market. It can detect obstacles on the road up to a distance of 200 meters and
classify them in all weather conditions. It is used by carmakers for their most advanced models such
as the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 or Honda Legend. Up to 30% of new premium vehicles are to reach
level 3 of autonomous driving by 2030, and to do so, they will have to be equipped with lidar
technology. We develop hardware, software, optics, mechanical construction, execute system testing
and industrialization of this product.
The LiDAR team is currently looking for Senior Software Tool Developer

Responsibilities

Development of software tools and KPI scripts for validation and verification of algorithms

and systems based on functional requirements

Participation in definition of SW Architecture for individual tools as well as redefining existing

parts

Design and implementation of SW toolchain for better ease of use of individual systems and

automating development processes

Documentation of implemented solutions according to the Valeo standard

Administration, maintenance and modification of implemented solutions according to

current requirements

Performing Specification reviews, Software Design Reviews and Peer Code Reviews on a

regular basis

Active participation in integration and system tests (definition, preparation, execution,

evaluation, reporting). Presentation of tests and results internally and to the customer

Creation of test strategy, planning and coordination of test activities based on submitted

requirements

Collaboration in the creation of system specifications and system requirements,

communication with interested teams

Facilitating and contributing to technical communication with customers

Ensuring software quality in accordance with company processes

Skills

Must have

University Technical degree

Python experience (at least 7 years professional experience)

C/C++ experience

Experience in KPI development for validation and verification of algorithms and systems based on functional requirements

Decent understanding of Linear algebra (transformations between different coordinate systems, matrix calculations, odometry calculations

Experience with validation and test automation tools (such as Robot Framework, Pytest, Selenium etc.) is an advantage

Nice to have

Experience in the Automotive standards and with its standard data formats (ADTF .DAT, .MF4)

Experience with static code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, Klocwork, etc.) is an advantage

Experience with CI/CD pipeline and Jenkins framework is an advantage

English language, Czech language would be a plus
