This role focuses on implementing Calypso solutions for global clients, including designing functional solutions, integrating with trading and market data platforms, and developing custom applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive for delivering Treasury, Risk, and Trading solutions and values client collaboration. Responsibilities include in-depth, hands-on customer implementation of the Calypso system, assisting clients with user requirements, testing implementations, achieving signoffs, and ensuring system progression towards go-live. Key configuration areas include Back-office capabilities like Confirmations, Matching, SDIs, Messages, Settlements, Accounting, and Reporting.
Must have:
  • Experience in systems or functional analysis in capital markets.

Job Details

Nasdaq Technology is seeking a Specialist - Back Office (Functional Domain) for its Customer Delivery Center in Mumbai/Pune, India. If you are interested in advanced treasury products, this is an ideal role.

As a Specialist, you will implement Calypso solutions for global clients, design and deliver functional solutions, integrate with trading and market data platforms, and develop custom applications.

Candidates should value client collaboration and have a strong drive to deliver Treasury, Risk, and Trading solutions.

The division includes teams such as Customer Delivery, Cloud Services, Calypso Learning Services, Customer Support, and Customer Success Management, all overseeing the customer journey at Nasdaq.

Role and responsibilities:

  • In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers implementing the Calypso system.  

  • Work directly with the customer project team implementing the system and assist them in implementing their users’ requirements

  • Follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.

  • System configuration with Back-office capabilities like Confirmations, Matching, SDIs, Messages, Settlements, Accounting, Reporting.

  • Work hands-on with the system, configuring it and testing that it meets the customer’s functional requirements

  • The functional consultant will then typically follow up with the Client’s Business users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.

  • Train users and customer project team on the basic use of the system, particularly with the functional setup and prepare the brief a clear document / mentorship for the Client to use

We expect you to have

  • Experience working in systems or functional analysis, preferably in the capital markets industry with software including Cross Asset and a wide spectrum of Financial Instruments and Contracts like Foreign Exchange, FX Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, Fixed Income, Money Market, Commodities, Equities in both the OTC and the Exchange-Traded Products.

  • Preference for domain experience in implementing software and familiarity with Trade Lifecycles in support of any or all the following asset classes: credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income, or FX · Expert level Hands-on knowledge or expertise in the implementation, Product development and/or support of a Back-Office system primarily post-trade processing, Cross-Asset Accounting, Confirmations, Matching, Settlements, Reconciliations, Messages (SWIFT/Paper), Regulatory and Internal reporting.

  • Candidate with exposure to Clearing, Collateral Management & Securities Finance is preferred. · Experience writing functional and business specifications with the ability to map conceptual financial and business elements to practical system capabilities.

  • CFA or FRM certification is preferred. · Relevant Back office and Capital Market domain experience of 10 to 12 years.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working closely with customers as well as training them, and patience will be key to success

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

  • Proactiveness and task ownership skills are a must.

It would be great if you have

  • Advance PG Degree / Diploma / Certification in Finance / Treasury Management or firsthand Trading experience.

  • Expert level Hands-on knowledge or expertise in the implementation, Product development and/or support of a Back-Office system primarily post-trade processing, Cross-Asset Accounting, Confirmations, Matching, Settlements, Reconciliations, Messages (SWIFT/Paper), Regulatory and Internal reporting. Domain experience in implementing software in support of any or all the following asset classes: credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income or FX.

  • Strong business skills – as this is a functional position, the candidate must be very “business savvy” – ability to comfortably get along with end users on business operations will be highly valued.
