Job Description

This role is within the Quality Organization, supporting Automotive customers in China. Responsibilities include managing customer quality issue resolution, working with engineering teams, providing timely updates to customers, supporting new product introduction, building customer relationships, cooperating with global teams, and driving approval of Qualcomm PCNs. The role involves frequent domestic and international travel.
Must have:
  • Minimum 8 years in Automotive industry with customer facing role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field
  • Understanding of wafer fabrication, assembly and testing
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment like oscilloscopes
  • Understanding of Electrically induced Physical Damage (EIPD)
  • Application of 8D Methodology
Good to have:
  • Understanding of PPAP / APQP / IATF 16949
  • Knowledge of quality tools and reliability
  • Knowledge of CMOS Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of IC assembly methods / processes
  • Familiarity with Digital & Mixed signal test systems
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

General Summary:

Job Overview

- This is a technical customer facing role within the Quality Organization supporting Automotive customers based in China to provide leading edge automotive applications using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon, Modem and 5G technology.

- Focus on in region Automotive customers and manage customer quality issue resolution for Qualcomm products from customer development, mass production to field returns.

- Work with Automotive customers and internal engineering teams to address quality issues and customer returns.

- Update customers in a timely fashion regarding the status of quality issues or any requests.

- Work closely with Customer Engineering / Applications teams to understand new product introduction status and feedback issues to Qualcomm quality organization.

- Work with Automotive customers and Qualcomm internal teams to support customer APQP, required to bring up new products (Including documentation, risk assessment etc.).

- Build strong relationships with customers. Be prepared to advocate for Customers to Qualcomm internal teams and likewise protect Qualcomm interests when facing customers.

- Cooperate with global Qualcomm teams to handle quality issues following up and worldwide CQE strategy implementation.

- Work with local Sales/ Customer Service/ Engineering team closely to drive approval and adoption of Qualcomm PCNs.

- Survey key customers frequently for quality KPIs including business reviews.

- Bring customer intelligence into Qualcomm such as new regional requirements, standards, risks, and opportunities.

- Support offshore facilities of worldwide customers.

Qualification

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Physics, Electronics, or related disciplines.

- Minimum 8 years of work experience in the Automotive industry in a customer facing role.

- Understanding of including wafer fabrication, assembly, and testing.

- Hands on experience of using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscope, curve trace, CSAM.

- Understanding of Electrically induced Physical Damage (EIPD).

- Understanding and application of 8D Methodology and related tools.

Desirable technical experience:

- Understanding of PPAP / APQP / IATF 16949.

- Knowledge and experience of quality tools and reliability.

- Knowledge of CMOS Manufacturing, construction, and deconstruction.

- Knowledge of IC assembly methods / processes.

- Familiarity with Digital & Mixed signal test systems and methods.

- Strong interpersonal communication skill with customer and internal team, must be persistent and determined, can manage difficult conversations.

- Confident and flexible Self-starter– desire to do what is needed to address a customer issue.

- Excellent team working for problem solving.

- Proficiency in verbal and written English.

- Available for frequent domestic and oversea travel.

- Honesty and Integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
