Job Description

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Custom Silicon Technical Lead to lead the development and implementation of Arm-based server solutions. You will be responsible for the CPU software architecture, design, development, and testing of these platforms. You will also collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimization, while engaging with cross organizational leads to co-develop roadmap. This role requires leadership and mentoring skills to guide a team of engineers and foster a culture of innovation. You will stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in Arm server technologies.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
5 years of experience with design and architecture
Experience in ARM, Servers, Operating Systems, Virtualization, and Cloud Computing

Good to have:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization
Experience with Hardware Architecture, Benchmarking, System On a Chip, Open Source Technologies, Technical Documentation, and presenting to Executive audiences

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Experience in ARM, Servers, Operating Systems, Virtualization, and Cloud Computing.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
Experience with one or more of the following: Hardware Architecture, Benchmarking, System On a Chip, Open Source Technologies, Technical Documentation, and presenting to Executive audiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Lead the CPU software architecture, design, development and testing of Arm-based server platforms.
Drive innovation in Arm server architecture and contribute to the development of industry standards.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimization, while engaging with cross organizational leads to co-develop roadmap.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in Arm server technologies.
