We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to contribute to our new PC/console strategy game. Responsibilities include creating high-quality water and weather effects, optimizing shaders, materials, and foliage, improving Niagara-based visual effects, and working with lighting optimization. You will guide content production pipelines, maintain performance, and collaborate with Art, Engineering, and Design teams. Problem-solving, pipeline improvement, and advising on asset optimization are key aspects. Experience with Unreal Engine, including Blueprints, Niagara, and performance profiling tools, is essential. A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality game-ready work is required.
Must have:
  • 3+ years experience as Technical Artist
  • High-quality game asset creation
  • Unreal Engine expertise (Blueprints, Niagara)
  • Water/weather effects creation in Unreal Engine
  • Shader/material creation and optimization
  • Lighting optimization and modern lighting models

Job Details

is looking for a highly talented and experienced Technical/VFX Artist to play a key role in our new ambitious PC/console strategy game. The specialist we looking for will guide the content production pipelines and help maintain performance as well as be responsible for some of the visual features. 

Responsibilities:

  • Creating high-quality water and weather effects, assisting other team members in the creation of related systems
  • Creating and optimizing shaders, materials, decals, and foliage
  • Creating and improving Niagara-based visual effects
  • Working with lightning optimization
  • Identify pipeline, workflow & build problems, solve them, or work with teams to mitigate the impact on the final product
  • Advising art on how to further optimize assets and other content to fit within the technical limitations
  • Collaborating with Art, Engineering, and Design teams to create a high-quality game experience
  • Help define new art workflows and identify industry trends/best practices
  • Be the point of contact between team members to drive cross-department collaboration

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist or related art role
  • A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to create high-quality works suitable for games
  • Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine is essential including knowledge of blueprints, Niagara, and performance profiling tools
  • Working experience with water and weather effects in Unreal Engine
  • In-depth knowledge of modern lighting models, and how they affect shader/material creation
  • Good knowledge of node-based shader editors and/or HLSL experience
  • Verbal English - upper-intermediate and higher

Good to have:

  • Experience with city-building, RTS, or tactical games as a developer
  • Good understanding of 3D maths
  • Good knowledge of Houdini & procedural content creation
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Being able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be an avid gamer
