As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be responsible for elevating the quality of our games and applications by optimizing and refining their technical aspects. You will play a crucial role in modernizing the player experience by improving asset workflows, developing efficient tools, and ensuring smooth operation across mobile devices. Your expertise will be critical in pushing the boundaries of what's possible with our World of Peppa Pig expansions, ensuring that the games maintain the charm and joy expected by our audience.
Must have:
  • Experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry
  • Strong expertise in mobile platforms and Unity
  • Proficiency in Unity, with a deep understanding of rendering pipelines, performance optimization, and tool development
  • Experience addressing mobile performance constraints
  • Strong scripting skills (C#, Python, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A keen understanding of designing for young audiences

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Artist to elevate the quality of our games, with a focus on optimizing and refining the technical aspects of our games and applications. You’ll play a critical role in modernizing the overall player experience by improving asset workflows, developing efficient tools, and ensuring the app runs seamlessly across mobile devices.

 

As we invest in new expansions of World of Peppa Pig, your expertise will help us push the boundaries of what’s possible while preserving the charm and joy that our audience and players expect.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines, ensuring seamless integration of 2D assets from creation to implementation in the game engine.
  • Optimization of 2D Assets: Ensure that textures, sprites, animations, and UI elements are optimized for performance and memory usage on mobile devices.
  • Shader Development: Build and optimize lightweight, mobile-friendly shaders that improve visual effects, such as lighting, shadows, and transitions.
  • Particle Systems: Implement and optimize particle effects for 2D games.
  • Performance Profiling: Use mobile profiling tools (e.g., Unity Profiler, Xcode, Android GPU Profiler) to analyze and optimize the game’s performance, focusing on reducing frame drops, load times, and battery consumption.
  • Cross-Platform Optimization: Ensure the game runs efficiently on a wide range of mobile devices with different hardware configurations (high-end and low-end).
  • Asset Compression and Management: Compress textures and assets to reduce game size while maintaining visual fidelity and manage texture atlases to optimize draw calls.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Address and solve technical challenges related to 2D graphics, animation, and asset integration in the mobile game engine.
  • Tool Creation: Develop tools and processes that streamline the creation and optimization of 2D assets, allowing artists to work more efficiently.
  • Support for Mobile-Specific Features: Ensure the integration of mobile-specific features like touch input, resolution scaling, and screen aspect ratio adaptability.
  • Co-Development Oversight, Collaboration: Work closely with both the art and development teams and external development to promote innovation and refine the visual quality of our games

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, with strong expertise in mobile platforms and Unity, having knowledge across Unity animation tools including Unity built-in, Spine, Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, Adobe Animate, and Blender
  • Proficiency in Unity, with a deep understanding of rendering pipelines, performance optimization, and tool development.
  • Experience addressing mobile performance constraints, including memory, GPU/CPU limitations, and texture management.
  • Strong scripting skills (C#, Python, etc.) for tool development and automation.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, solving complex technical challenges while maintaining the creative vision.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in co-development and outsourced work
  • A keen understanding of designing for young audiences, including considerations for accessibility, visual clarity, and motor skill development
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork.
