Netflix seeks a Senior Technical Producer to lead innovative game platforms and services. This role involves defining and executing game technology strategy, collaborating with game development teams and cross-functional partners (Product & Technology), aligning on feature requirements and timelines, and driving continuous improvement in game development. Responsibilities include converting game studio strategies into actionable deliverables, deeply understanding game development and platform capabilities, defining requirements that align with long-term strategic goals, and ensuring on-time delivery of technical capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses detailed knowledge of game development, game engines, and engineering principles, along with strong communication and risk management skills.
Must have:
  • Deep knowledge of game development and platform capabilities
  • Define requirements meeting game team and Product & Technology needs
  • Strong communication skills, converting technical needs into layman's terms
  • Experience with project management tools (JIRA)
  • 5+ years in game development or technology
Good to have:

Netflix is looking for an experienced technical producer to help enable innovative and efficient platforms and services for our talented game developers to create the best experiences of their career.   In this role you will help to define and execute the needs of the games technology strategy, work with game development teams and peers across Product and Technology to align on feature requirements, timelines, acceptance criteria and drive continuous improvement to game development and its success within Netflix.

The ideal candidate is able to deeply understand the platform capabilities and the game studios needs and align those needs with efficient solutions, define feature requirements and acceptance criteria from studio producers, while incorporating long-term strategic thinking. 

This role works with engineering teams and product managers to shape features through development and ensure that they meet the immediate and future needs of game teams. Ensure that the features are delivered in time for evaluation, iteration and adoption by game studios.

Responsibilities:

  • Convert the Games Studios strategy into actionable deliverables as innovation and foundational development projects.

  • Have a deep understanding of game development and platform capabilities.

  • Define requirements that meet the needs of game teams and Product & Technology while driving towards long term strategic goals.  

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure alignment and on-time delivery of technical capabilities that support Games studios priorities.  

  • Work closely with engineers to understand and project feasibility and timelines of concepts that may utilize Product and Technology features and services or common game technologies.

  • Work with Product & Technology to define and project needs ahead of potential game adoption.

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of game development, game engines and tools, and game development best practices.

  • Knowledgeable of engineering principles, terminology and game architecture.

  • Expert knowledge of estimation and risk management.

  • Strong communication skills with both technical experts and the ability to convert technical needs into layman’s jargon both through verbal and written forms.

  • Familiarity with project and task management tools such as JIRA.

  • Preferred experience with a games platform service such as PSN, Xbox Live or Battle.net.

  • Preferred experience with 3rd party tools evaluation and implementation in game development environments.

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in game development or technology with a strong understanding of platform development and common game tools.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $90,000 - $600,000.
