Job Description

As a Senior Tools Engineer (Animation Pipeline) at NetEase Games, you will collaborate with designers and artists to improve in-game animation performance through new technologies and optimization. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing DCC plugins (MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender, Houdini), building automation and visualization tools within the game editor, and enhancing efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of game development experience (2+ years with commercial game engines), proficiency in C++ and Python, a strong math background, and excellent communication skills. Experience in sports game development, particularly football, is a plus. This is a remote position based in Canada.
Must have:

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with designers and artists to enhance in-game animation performance by introducing new technologies or optimizing existing implementations.
  • Develop and optimize DCC plugins (such as MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender, Houdini) based on the requirements of designers and artists.
  • Build automation tools and visualization tools within the Editor to improve efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development, with at least 2 years focused on commercial game engines.
  • Proficient in C++ and Phyton, familiar with tool development, with the ability to write clean, standardized code and create comprehensive documentation.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, excellent logical thinking skills and good communication abilities.
  • Familiar with computer animation and art asset production workflows.
  • Strong learning ability and self-motivation, capable of independently analyzing and solving problems, and willing to share knowledge.
  • Experience in sports game development, preferably with football-related projects.
