Job Description

Senior UI Designer (SS&C Technologies, Inc., Windsor, CT): The Senior UI Designer is a driver of user experience at Intralinks. This role will partner closely with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience. The Senior UI Designer will execute all design stages from initial concept to final hand off to engineering and validation. This role will bring a clarity and simplicity to complex financial interactions. This role will be a member of a broader team supporting diverse products and will share and collaborate to enable product development. In a partial capacity, the Senior UI Designer will also work with the design system team to help further existing patterns and define or create new ones to be leveraged across the team. The Senior UI Designer may also be called upon to help migrate our extensive design system to Figma from Sketch. Specific responsibilities include: Collaborating across design and product management and engineering to discover and share project goals, objectives, and target users and help guide project direction. Being a great team player, experienced in working with agile/scrum teams. Contributing to a complex design system and component library. Creating UI components / patterns & iterate on them based on feedback. Helping to move our substantial design library from Sketch to Figma. Ship pixel-perfect deliverables which “make our developers happy” based on provided wireframes or guides. Ensuring that UI Designs are implemented correctly. Presenting and defending design decisions. Telecommuting permitted. 5% domestic and international travel to SS&C offices and conferences.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Computer Graphics or related field plus 5 years of experience in UI Design. Alternatively, will accept Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Computer Graphics or related field plus 1 year of experience in UI Design.

Must have: A good understanding of design patterns, interaction design, information architecture and universal design principles. Demonstrated ability with creating, iterating and validating UI Design solutions. Ability to take responsibility for timely completion of work. The ability to understand customer problems and to create elegant and practical solutions. Ability to take the initiative in order to identify problems with given solutions and act on opportunities to improve the delivered product. Knowledge of different OS platforms and browsers, and the idiosyncrasies of each. A strong portfolio demonstrating not only excellent visual & interactive design skills, but which also shows an understanding of design and product strategy. Knowledge of HTML, CSS & Web Standards. Excellent communication skills.
