The Senior UI/UX Designer at PlayStation Studios: Creative is responsible for developing and maintaining a cohesive digital design system for promotional campaigns and assets across various customer touchpoints. Key responsibilities include evolving UI/UX for games and digital products, advocating for the design system, managing multiple feature workflows, adapting existing UI/UX work from studio partners, ensuring adherence to PlayStation brand guidelines, and strategizing with the Creative Director and Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as a UI/UX Game Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful game projects. There's potential for creative growth within this role.
Must have:
  • 5+ years UI/UX Game Design experience
  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Experience with user testing and design thinking
  • UI implementation skills in Unreal or Unity

The PlayStation Studios: Creative team is an award winning, global internal creative agency within PlayStation Studios. We endeavour to build a working environment where we can flourish and create industry leading work. Structured around 2 teams; Brand & Strategy and the Creative Studio, comprising of four core disciplines; Design & illustration, UI/UX, Motion & 3D, Film and Video. We deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing/PR teams. 

 

Role Overview: 

The Senior UI/UX Designer in PlayStation Studios: Creative is responsible for creating and maintaining a cohesive and efficient digital design system for promotional campaigns and assets for multiple customer touchpoints. This role requires a strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles, visual design, and proficiency in design tools. 

You'll play a key role in bringing world-class content to players globally. We're looking for someone with a love for the brand, the ability to collaborate with other teams in the business, and a keen eye for detail. There will be potential to creatively grow within this role. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and evolve UIUX for games/digital products that encompasses variants, components, UX flows and guidelines to maintain consistency across all digital touch points.  
  • Advocate for the Design System and Design Thinking across the organization, taking ownership and emphasizing its value in improving efficiency, maintaining consistency of components, and enhancing the overall user experience. 
  • Production and management of multiple feature workflows, providing different options and selecting the best outcome. 
  • Adapt and explore existing UIUX work from studio partners and expand on their vision, based on existing guidelines. 
  • UI implementation skills on either Unreal or Unity. 
  • Ensure that creative output adheres to PlayStation brand and design principles. 
  • Strategise with the Creative Director and Production Manager to help meet business objectives. 

  

Requirements: 

  • Must have at least 5 years as a UIUX Game Designer in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful work on other game projects. 
  • Skilled with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. 
  • High proficiency in Figma  
  • Experienced with user testing and design thinking principles. 
  • Well organised with a strong eye for detail. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. 
  • Willing to mentor designers to meet high-quality work and project standards. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Problem solving - lateral thinking with logical reasoning. 
  • Creativity - not only for visual creative communication but for production, processes and efficiency. 
  • Work ethic - always be professional and show initiative and integrity. 
  • Interpersonal skills - Tolerance, patience and diplomacy. 
  • Excellent Time management. 
  • File management with high levels of quality and accuracy. 
  • Passionate about Games and how they are communicated to the public.
