C3 AI has an opening for a Senior Unity Engineer, Mixed Reality located onsite at our office in Redwood City, CA.  As a Senior Mixed Reality Engineer on the AI Vision team, you will play a key role in prototyping, developing, and deploying immersive, interactive mixed reality and 3D experiences for our enterprise AI platform applications, helping to solve our customer’s business challenges in a truly innovative manner.  As an early member of the AI Vision team, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact pushing the boundaries of what’s possible at the intersection of AI, XR and 3D visualization.  You will blend your robust background in AR/VR development, rapid prototyping skills, and full-stack knowledge to innovate on and productize immersive solutions that deliver both delight and true business value to a variety of end users across different industries. 

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, develop, document, and maintain AR/VR applications using Unity3D for enterprise AI applications
• Develop rapid interactive prototypes and proof-of-concept experiences to demonstrate new features, workflows, and capabilities for customer presentations and feedback
• Optimize application performance & memory usage and ensure scalability and maintainability across multiple target devices (e.g., Meta, Apple, AndroidXR, web, mobile, etc.)
• Collaborate closely with Design, Art, and other cross-disciplinary teams to deliver performant and scalable applications
• Rapidly troubleshoot bugs, solve problems, and proactively strive to improve our products and technologies
• Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging XR technologies, tools, and frameworks, staying current with industry trends and best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least 3+ years using Unity3D / C#
• Proven track record of architecting, building, documenting, and deploying AR/VR applications or games (portfolio or shipped products required)
• Deep understanding of 3D graphics, shaders, physics, animation, and optimization techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
• Proficiency with version control, agile methodologies and collaborative development environments
• Strong debugging skills, with experience using Unity Profiler, logs, and visualizers
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and take end-to-end ownership of projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, or related field
• Experience with OpenXR, MetaXR, ARKit, visionOS SDK, ARCore, and/or other leading XR SDKs
• Prior involvement in large-scale, enterprise-grade AR/VR solutions (e.g., workforce training, industrial simulation, remote collaboration, digital twins)
• Proficiency with 3D packages and tools that may be used in the pipeline such as Figma, Blender, Max, Substance painter, Zbrush, etc.
• Proficiency with image processing, computer vision, and/or machine learning
• Experience with cross-platform development and deployment, including mobile, web, and XR devices
