Job Description

Google seeks a Senior UX Designer for a fixed-term contract. Responsibilities include collaborating with product managers and engineers, communicating UX through various design stages (wireframes, prototypes), integrating user feedback, and advocating for design-centered improvements. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in product design, experience across multiple platforms, and proficiency in creating user flows, wireframes, and mockups. A portfolio showcasing relevant work is required. The role involves working with technical and design teams and requires travel to the Perth office as needed. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and experience leading design projects and working with executive leaders.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
6+ years experience in product design or UX
Cross-platform design experience
User flow, wireframe, and prototype creation
Portfolio showcasing relevant work

Excellent problem-solving skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in product design or UX.
Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Ability to travel to the office in Perth as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in product design or UX.
3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization, 2 years of experience leading design projects, and 1 year of experience working with executive leaders.
Experience communicating and influencing product design strategy.
Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process.
Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (Android and iOS).

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high fidelity prototypes.
Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
