Position: Senior UX Designer

Description:
We are looking for a talented UX Designer to join our team and play a vital role in creating incredible user experiences for our game, DCUO. As a UX Designer, you will be the champion of the player, ensuring our game is intuitive, engaging, and enjoyable for everyone.
This candidate should be an individual who is motivated, positive, self-managing and focused on creating easy to use experiences for our customers.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION:
- Reporting to the Art Director.
- The designer will work closely with the Development team to create user interface and interaction design specifications.
- Design user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for core game mechanics, menus, and onboarding experiences.
- Ability to manipulate existing UI art assets to construct UI mockups.
- Collaborate with game designers and engineers to translate design concepts into a seamless player experience.
- Concept, design, and iterate on UI elements, bringing your artistic vision to life for menus, heads-up displays (HUDs), inventory screens, character customization tools, and more.
- Utilize your artistic skills to create mockups, prototypes and high-fidelity final assets using industry-standard design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator).
- Ensure UI elements seamlessly integrate with the game's overall art style, creating a cohesive and visually captivating experience.
- Work with team members to conduct user research, identify pain points, make usability recommendations and develop user profiles and identify edge cases.
- Promote user-centered design approach while working collaboratively in brainstorming sessions to design innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Must possess organization and multi-tasking skills sufficient to prioritize and perform complex tasks under minimal supervision.
- Work with engineering and analytics to conduct user research. Track user behavior and click-paths to ensure optimum results achieved.
- Design and evaluate A/B testing processes and results.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in UX design for video games
- Be an advocate for our players and speak to their concerns and needs.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, preferably in the video game industry.
- Must have Game Industry UI/UX Experience. Related Entertainment Industry UI/UX experience will also be considered.
- Must be passionate about games and play on a regular basis.
- Strong understanding of UI and interaction design principles and architecture with an eye for details and consistency.
- Organized, self-starter, precise. Able to produce accurate work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience building UI style guides.
- Experience with both PC and game console UI.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- A strong portfolio showcasing UX design work for games or interactive applications.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with user research methods, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
- Proficiency in UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for video games and a deep understanding of player psychology.
The following skills would be a plus:
- BA or BS, in Graphic Design, Industrial Design or related fields.
- Experience with specific game genres relevant to our studio.
- Strong understanding of UI software such as Scaleform or Adobe Flash.
- Knowledge of game development pipelines.
- Experience with accessibility best practices.
