PTW seeks a Senior VFX Artist with fluent English to design and implement high-quality visual effects (explosions, fire, smoke, water, magic) for video games. Collaborate with art, design, and engineering teams for seamless integration. Optimize VFX for performance across platforms. Stay updated on industry trends. Maintain clear documentation. Requires expertise in Unity and Unreal particle systems, CASCADE, flipbook VFX, and industry-standard software (Maya, 3ds Max, Photoshop, Substance). Strong understanding of real-time VFX techniques, optimization for console/mobile, shader creation, and game pipelines is essential. A portfolio showcasing technical and artistic execution is required.

THIS POSITION DEMANDS FLUENT ENGLISH

PTW is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior VFX Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating stunning visual effects for video games, with a strong understanding of the latest industry tools and techniques. This role requires a collaborative individual who can work closely with other artists, designers, and engineers to bring our game worlds to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Create high-quality visual effects (VFX) including explosions, fire, smoke, water, and magical effects that enhance the gaming experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the art, design, and engineering teams to ensure VFX are seamlessly integrated into the game.
  • Optimization: Optimize VFX for performance without compromising quality, ensuring they run smoothly on target platforms.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve the quality and efficiency of VFX production.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and organized documentation of VFX processes and workflows.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Unity and Unreal Particle System.
  • Experience with the CASCADE interface in Unreal.
  • Examples of Flipbooks VFX in your portfolio and stylised effects.
  • Experience of using industry-standard content creation software (e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Photoshop, Substance) to create assets to use in-engine.
  • Strong understanding of Real-time VFX techniques and pipeline.
  • Experience with various supplemental 3D and VFX authoring packages (Maya, Houdini, Substance, etc.)
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a breadth of both technical and artistic execution of real-time VFX.
  • Strong understanding optimizing VFX for console and mobile game development.
  • Experience with shader creation inside Unity and Unreal.
  • Knowledge of game production pipeline and life cycle.
  • A critical eye for the timing, animation, and motion of real-world objects and visual VFX.
  • Bilingual Portuguese/English
