CD PROJEKT RED seeks a Senior Weapons Artist for their Boston studio to work on Cyberpunk: Orion. Responsibilities include interpreting weapon designs from concepts, hard-surface modeling with mechanical articulation, texturing and material creation, pipeline development, documentation, briefing outsourcing partners, and collaboration with design, animation, and art direction teams. The artist will mentor junior artists and solve design and aesthetic challenges. The role requires 7+ years of experience in games or film, proficiency in 3D modeling software, strong traditional art skills, understanding of mechanical function, weapon design across various eras, and collaborative teamwork.

Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an experienced Senior Weapons Artist to join our studio in Boston and work on Cyberpunk: Orion, the follow up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next game in the franchise. As a Senior weapons artist, you will work with various stakeholders to bring the fantastic weapons of the Cyberpunk universe to life.
Daily Responsibilities
- Interpret weapons designs from detailed concepts and bring them to life
- Hard surface modeling of weapons, props, or possibly vehicles with mechanical articulation for accurate functionality
- Texturing and material creation
- Assist in the creation of pipelines and workflows for weapons creation and customization
- Create documentation for workflows or pipelines
- Writing and preparing briefs for outsource or other development partners
- Working with the design, animation and Art Direction teams to problem solve both design and aesthetic challenges
- Mentor other hardsurface/weapons artists
Qualifications
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in the games or film industry, preferably focused on hardsurface modeling for weapons and props
- Ability to work independently to identify and own work, deliver results.
- Experience working on AAA first person titles
- Extensive experience using 3D modeling applications
- Strong background in traditional art skills, understanding fundamentals like proportion, scale, value, and color theory.
- A strong understanding of material surfaces and the ability to communicate them visually.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical function and purpose and the ability to create believable assets
- Knowledgeable in weapon design across various eras and genres.
- Be fast and organized at researching and reference gathering.
- A collaborative and team player approach, being able to contribute ideas, take direction, and react to stakeholder feedback.
- The ability to learn new tools quickly and effectively.
Additional Information
In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw, Poland.
