Snowflake Development Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Development Engineer to join our Supply Chain IT team. As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data architecture on the Snowflake cloud data platform for Supply Chain Planning Data.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Data Integration and Processing:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal data models within the Snowflake environment.
• Work closely with ETL developers to ensure seamless and efficient data integration processes.
• Building and maintaining Snowpipes and streamings
• Setting up data load and unloads onto Microsoft blob storage
• Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Develop stored procedures and UDFs using Snowflake scripting/Python.
• Administration:
• Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization, and implement optimizations as needed.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data storage and processing.
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years in Data Engineering or in a similar role, with a deep understanding of Snowflake platform and features.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in optimizing complex queries.
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud provider platform.
• Scripting skills (Python or Snowflake) for automation tasks.
• Proficiency in data modeling and database design principles.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of data warehousing best practices.
• Having experience in IT data planning for Supply Chain is an added advantage.
• Experience in creating Power BI reports for data analysis.
• SnowPro Core certified
