Job Description

ByteDance's Pico division seeks a SOC Prototype FW Engineer to develop pre-silicon fast prototypes using FPGAs for future VR/AR products. Responsibilities include defining firmware architecture, kernel programming, debugging, algorithm acceleration, and latency optimization. Collaboration with hardware and RTL engineers is crucial. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C/C++, ARM microarchitecture, and high-speed IOs. Experience with imaging and AI algorithms and Zync FPGA is preferred.

Must have:

As a world-renowned VR/AR brand with independent innovation and R&D capabilities, Pico has been at the forefront of the consumer electronic market. We have teams in Europe, Japan and South Korea. Now we are looking for experts in image pipeline to join us to build our AR/VR imaging team. Responsibilities: - Develop IP/SOC pre-silicon fast-prototype using FPGA to create a proof of concept system for future VR/AR products. - Define the firmware architecture of the prototype as product reference and in charge of kernel programming and debugging. - Responsible for algorithm acceleration on the FW level and optimization of the latency from the overall FW/SW stack up. - Collaborate with FPGA hardware and RTL engineers to deliver the pre-silicon prototype system.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification - MS or above in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent fields. - Proficient in C/C++ programming. - Familiar with ARM microarchitecture, petalinux and baremetal. - Knowledge of algorithm acceleration and optimization by using Neon and DSP. - Familiar with high speed IOs and associated protocols like MIPI, USB, PCIe and Ethernet. Preferred Qualification: - Familiar with SOC architecture and experience of silicon development. - Experience of imaging and AI algorithm development. - Familiar with Zync FPGA. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
