THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS

Gravitee.io is taking APIs to the next level — we are the premier, open source API platform and we want everyone to know how amazing our software is. To make this happen, we are looking for someone passionate, curious and ambitious. This is where you come in. We are currently recruiting for a Software Architect to join our team.

As a Software Architect, you will, in collaboration with other architects and senior leadership, greatly contribute to the development of the Gravitee platform and provide ideas and innovations to propel the next generation of our API Management Platform.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience working on a fully-remote and globally distributed Engineering team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following, but is not limited to:

• Working closely with our Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions
• Contributing to the development of the Gravitee products by implementing prototypes, internal frameworks and reference implementations for critical components
• Defining and providing architecture standards with guidance on technologies and frameworks
• Guiding and assisting engineering teams throughout implementation of features
• Providing documentation of the concepts and architecture of the products
• Ensuring recommended architectural designs, patterns and performance recommendations are adhered to as part of delivery
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with performance, coding or design
• Seeks innovation by taking an interest in emerging technologies and communicating on the opportunities and perspectives

ESSENTIAL SKILLS The right candidate will possess at least the following skills, if not more:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required
• 10 years of experience designing and implementing software applications
• Expert level proficiency in Java or alternate languages such as Go or C
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes-like solutions and cloud offerings
• Ability to understand and assess new technologies and their potential applicability to business needs, efficiently and effectively
• Effectively communicate technical problems and solutions to both technical and less-technical people
• Able to work independently, manage priorities and multi-task efficiently
