Role Summary

The Expedia Marketing Technology team’s mission is to build a best-in-class platform that enables marketing and optimizes value for EG Brands. This platform powers critical marketing use cases and provides operational scalability. The technologies we work with include Golang, Python, Kotlin, React, Kubernetes, Argo, and AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, EMR, RDS, etc.).

We deliver measurable value to Marketing by leveraging AI to enhance scalability, optimize processes, and reduce external spend. By integrating AI-driven tools into creative workflows, such as automated content moderation, dynamic asset creation, and intelligent ad optimization, we supercharge our efforts.

What You’ll Do
You will be part of the Marketing Technology team, which powers millions of ads for Expedia Group brands, directly impacting our marketing spend across partners like Google, Bing, Facebook, and Apple.

You will help build foundational capabilities needed to achieve our larger vision: context-aware, agentic workflows that preserve brand integrity while supercharging creativity and productivity. Each effort will contribute to a future where AI-driven agents operate with expert oversight to execute complex tasks that go beyond traditional automation.

• Use your exceptional engineering skills, software design expertise, and technical knowledge to deliver solutions that solve marketing challenges.

• Develop and test software applications and related programs to ensure they meet feature requirements.

• Identify and embrace new technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

• Improve the operational aspects of the platform with updates to our deployment process, test automation, performance tuning, and monitoring.

• Actively collaborate with the team to propose design approaches, solve problems, and evaluate the feasibility of technological solutions.

• Work in a fun, dynamic team environment and provide clear reports on work status and blockers.

Who You Are

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

• A self-starter with the ability to rapidly acquire and learn new software skills and technologies.

• Dedicated to writing and maintaining high-quality code.

• Experience in developing cloud software services, with an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability (Kubernetes preferred). Experience with AWS is desirable.

• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, Scala, Kotlin, or other equivalent languages.

• Experience with React JS is a huge plus and highly desirable.

• Familiarity with testing and monitoring tools.
