Position Overview
SW Eng (Dev) III
IGT is seeking a senior level Software Engineer to design, implement, test and support innovative, high quality systems application software for use in casino environments.
Total Experience: 6 - 8 years
Business Unit: Global Gaming
Responsibilities
- Applicant must be able to solve software engineering problems in a resourceful and effective manner, while maintaining robust software engineering solutions that adhere to design principles and anticipate future product features.
- This position requires the applicant to have a deep understanding of web application architectures and web frameworks like Vue and Angular. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment to develop web products through the software lifecycle, from requirements through deployment, and may investigate escalated field issues as needed.
- The applicant must be able to interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources of input and communicate expectations clearly and concisely to management/peers/clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with 2+ years of Angular exp. in software engineering
- Experience developing and delivering single-page applications for web and mobile
- Experience with use and design of Vue or Angular web framework, WebSockets
- Deep knowledge of Web domain, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, and HTML
- Knowledge of testing tools such as Protractor, Jasmine, Karma
- Familiarity with UX design patterns such as MVC and variants thereof
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, JQuery
- Experience with UML and other software modeling tools
- Experience with version control systems (git or equivalent)
- Experience with the Agile process and Kanban tools
- Experience in writing reusable, highly configurable, extendable, backward compatible, responsive, highly perform and testable UI components and JS libraries.
- Must have good written and verbal communications, be self-motivated, and work well in a team environment.
- Must be at least 21.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming card.
- Occasional travel required.
Preferred:
- Experience in ReactJS
- Experience with high availability application design
- Experience with SignalR
- Comfortable with Linux commands, Apache and tomcat server
- Knowledge of Docker and containers in general
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Windows 10
- Familiarity and experience with production deployment and trouble shooting
- Experience in system integration and testing automation
- Experience in TDD / BDD methodologies
- Experience in SEO best practices
