EasygoEasygo seeks a Mid-Level Software Development Engineer in Sydney to design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions. Responsibilities include optimizing existing systems, hands-on coding, leading medium-sized projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js, GraphQL, Docker, cloud services, and database technologies. The role involves working on complex projects, fostering innovation, and contributing to the future of online entertainment.
Must have:
  • Backend development experience (4+ years)
  • Node.js, GraphQL, Docker, Cloud services
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch experience
  • Messaging systems (NATS, Kafka, etc.)
  • Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog)
  • Code architecture and design principles
  • Problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Svelte/SvelteKit or similar frameworks
  • TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook
  • CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS Code Pipeline)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Actively engage in hands-on coding and development, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and take initiative in technical discussions
  • Independently lead medium-sized projects or components from start to finish.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts and project updates.
  • Provide technical leadership, guiding and mentoring junior engineers in the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to effectively communicate technical concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a primary focus on Backend development and leaning toward Full-Stack
  • Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, Docker, Cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies.
  • Experience with Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch for data storage and management.
  • Experience with Messaging systems such as NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc..
  • Experience with Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog)
  • Strong understanding of code architecture and design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies to grow as a full-stack engineer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Svelte + SvelteKit or other server-side rendering frameworks (e.g. React + NextJS, Vue + Nuxt, Quasar, etc)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals, Design Patterns, Subscriptions (WebSockets, Pub/Sub), TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook and related technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub Actions) for automating the deployment process.

About The Company

Easygo is a well-established global tech startup, we pride ourselves on being early adopters, progressive in our approach and adaptable to the ever-changing technology landscape. Our core focus is in the online gaming space building well-designed casino games, crypto platforms, and sportsbooks built on our "provably fair"​ algorithms. The products we build are used by millions of people around the world including Drake and you’ll see their logos on an EPL team, the UFC, advocated by e-gamers and in a number of other sporting places.

The last 2 years have been huge for us, we have grown from 20 to 100+ team members. Whilst the products that we build are global we have two amazing offices in the same building in the heart of the CBD with all the bells and whistles you could ever want. Including an in-house barista, pool, and table tennis tables, PS5 and Nintendo Switches, a meditation room, help yourself drinks fridge and snack wall, catered breakfast daily, weekly massages and team lunch.
