The QA Lead will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of QA professionals in an Agile (Scrum) environment. This includes developing and implementing effective test strategies and methodologies. The candidate will utilize Jira and Confluence for project traceability and collaborate with development and product teams. They will apply black box testing techniques and conduct exploratory testing. They will also lead the design and implementation of automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Java, RestAssured, GIT, and Gradle, integrating them into the CI/CD pipeline. The role requires experience with API testing using tools like Postman and knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Must have:

What We'll Bring:

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead with a strong background in test team management, agile methodologies, and automation testing. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of testing frameworks, and proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Java, RestAssured, GIT, Gradle, and SQL. Additionally, knowledge of Google Cloud and API testing with tools like Postman would be highly valued.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field or 4 years of related experience.

  • Proven experience in a QA Lead or similar role (3 to 5 years).

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum.

  • Proficient in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Good English level (Speaking, writing, and reading) 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).

  • Experience with other automation tools and frameworks.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices.

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and strategies.

  • This is a remote position for candidates in Costa Rica, which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

  • Test Management Team:
    • Lead and mentor a team of QA professionals in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
    • Promote collaboration and communication within the QA team and cross-functional teams.
    • Develop and implement effective test strategies and methodologies.
  • Project Traceability:
    • Utilize Jira and Confluence to ensure comprehensive traceability of test projects.
    • Collaborate with development and product teams to define and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Testing Techniques:
    • Apply black box testing techniques to thoroughly validate software functionality.
    • Conduct exploratory testing to identify potential issues and enhance test coverage.
    • Proficient in defect reporting, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation.
  • Automation Skills:
    • Lead the design and implementation of automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Java, RestAssured, GIT, and Gradle.
    • Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
    • Monitor and maintain automation frameworks to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • API Testing:
    • Possess hands-on experience with API testing using tools such as Postman.
    • Validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of APIs in different scenarios.
  • Cloud Knowledge:
    • Well-versed in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) projects, leveraging cloud-based testing solutions and environments.

This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.
